What to do if your are worried a child is being abused
Helpline - sexual harassment and abuse in education setting The dedicated NSPCC helpline number is 0800 136 663.
The dedicated number, run by the NSPCC, provides both children and adults who are victims of sexual abuse and harassment in schools with the appropriate support and advice. This includes how to contact the police and report crimes if they wish. The helpline also provides support to parents and professionals too.

Domestic Abuse
The Sunflower Centre offers help and advice for victims of domestic violence, and runs groups for children who have experienced domestic violence. Northants Sunflower Centre.
Northamptonshire Domestic Abuse Service (NDAS) began under the name of Northampton Women’s Aid in 1976. Originally staffed by volunteers the organisation has changed a lot since then but has always been dedicated to helping and supporting the victims of domestic abuse.
Our experience and statistics tell us that women are the main victims of domestic abuse. Much of the work we do is supporting women. However, this is not inclusive. We have helped and continue to support victims and survivors from all genders and walks of life, covering all ethnicities, socio-economic statuses, sexual orientation and religions. We changed our name to reflect this, and the work we do in Northamptonshire as a whole county.
NDAS support the needs of male clients fleeing domestic abuse in our male refuge. This refuge is one of only nine in the whole of the UK that is solely designated for male victims only.
NDAS recognise that more support for male victims is needed.

Evidence suggests there are 5 steps you can take to improve your mental health and wellbeing. Trying these things could help you feel more positive and able to get the most out of life.
1. Connect with other people
Good relationships are important for your mental wellbeing. They can:

help you to build a sense of belonging and self-worth

give you an opportunity to share positive experiences

provide emotional support and allow you to support others
There are lots of things you could try to help build stronger and closer relationships:

Being active is not only great for your physical health and fitness. Evidence also shows it can also improve your mental wellbeing by:

causing chemical changes in your brain which can help to positively change your mood
3. Learn new skills
Research shows that learning new skills can also improve your mental wellbeing by:

boosting self-confidence and raising self-esteem

Even if you feel like you do not have enough time, or you may not need to learn new things, there are lots of different ways to bring learning into your life.
4. Give to others
Research suggests that acts of giving and kindness can help improve your mental wellbeing by:

creating positive feelings and a sense of reward

giving you a feeling of purpose and self-worth
-
helping you connect with other people
It could be small acts of kindness towards other people, or larger ones like volunteering in your local community.
5. Pay attention to the present moment (mindfulness)
Paying more attention to the present moment can improve your mental wellbeing. This includes your thoughts and feelings, your body and the world around you.
Some people call this awareness "mindfulness". Mindfulness can help you enjoy life more and understand yourself better. It can positively change the way you feel about life and how you approach challenges.
