Wisbech

On Track Wisbech is a very small school boasting a maximum capacity of only 24 students across all year groups.  This means all our staff know every student as individuals and are knowledgeable of every child's needs.

We are a Thrive school of excellence and believe that every student should feel safe and that they belong in our school. Relationships between staff and students are key to our students accessing education and achieving to their highest ability. Every student is allocated a key worker who will work closely with their student and their families to share information and work in collaboration.

A school day at On Track Wisbech starts with a meet and greet by all key staff at the gate and then it's off to tutorial sessions where every student is offered a selection of healthy breakfast with hot or cold food options. Students will have the opportunity to discuss their day ahead and plan for any changes or adaptations. Academic lessons are usually held in the mornings and last for 40 minutes each with a whole school break in between. Lunch is provided for every student whether they get free school meals or not and we will also adapt to meet dietary needs.

In the afternoons students usually have hands-on sessions such as horse riding, woodworking, animal care, farm and horticulture, sport, cooking and art. Thursday are bush craft days and some students attend work placements.

Our year 11's enrol on our HERA Programme (Health, Education, Responsibility & Achievement) which means they will get individualised support to ensure a successful transition programme to their post 16 provision. The programme also includes personalised sessions that support students PSHE & Thrive needs, as well as general travel training and learning how to use public transport, visiting potential colleges, personal finances and how to manage in the ever changing world we live in.
